Directors Note

As of January 1, 2005 we will be expanding Kids Safety Smart to be more then just a literary resource for kids, teachers and parents in safe reading material. Our community projects will be more proactive in social issues as we begin a more hands on approach dealing with kids safety concerns.
We could not be more pleased at the rate in which our membership is growing at Kids Safety Smart. As we grow we want to reach out and touch people in a positive way to inspire them to live better lives and become more productive members of society. Thanks to all our members and sponsors who are making good things happen at Kids Safety Smart. We appreciate your efforts in all the positive things you do in our community. The rewards are a safer and better place to live. We know we have a long ways to go but together we can build safe neighborhoods that allow children to play without fear and parents worry less about their kids when they go outside. As a parent myself I know parents will always worry about their kids but we have to make our neighborhoods safer for our kids sake. It will take all of us who are concerned with the safety of our children working together to make it happen. OUR KEY WORD IS "AWARENESS".
We have a lot of information to share with you, which we hope will help better your life and make you aware of safety concerns for your entire family. Some of the information you may already know. However, as human beings we sometimes tend to put important information in the back of our mind if it isn’t a part of our daily lives and when we need it the most our complacency can cause us to be slow to react costing us time, which may even cost a life. Just think of our website as a mental reminder to all those important safety concerns. Hearing it one more time can't hurt, can it? The purpose of our program is to bring important safety concerns to the forefront of your brain to make it a part of your every day life. So, if you are in an emergency situation where an immediate reaction is required, you have the courage and fortitude to respond quickly because you have the knowledge. Don't get caught like a deer in the headlights if you're faced with an emergency and can't think of the right thing to do. Panic is caused by the lack of knowledge and a lack of awareness to what’s going on around you. If you're caught in an emergency situation and you panic because you're not sure what to do, your hope or chances of survival drops tremendously and it could cost you a terrible price.
Know the right thing to do and survive. Teach your kids also the important safety things you learn here, so they too will know what to do to survive.
Knowledge Is Power - Complacency Is Weakness.
Get ALL the right information, PRACTICE it every day and be strong in your life to have the power to react positively in case of an emergency.
